ASHION IS not frivolous; it is

Mary Quant, the subject of a major new
exhibition at London’s Victoria and Albert
Museum.
The show, which runs until February 16,
2020, is the first international retrospective
on the woman said to have personified the
energy and fun of swinging London, who
was a powerful role model for the working
woman.
Challenging conventions, she popularised
the mini skirt, colourful tights and tailored
trousers – encouraging a new age of
feminism.
The exhibition brings together more
than 120 garments as well as accessories,
cosmetics, sketches and photographs – most
